In the fall of 1949, Bishop Joseph and Bertha Wigfall took their first missionary journey to the Island of Jamaica, West Indies. In a very short time, the responses from the people were very gratifying. Lady Bertha Wigfall's concern for young people moved her to prayer and soul-winning so that these young people would come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. This was the beginning of Equator Faith Mission Association in Oakland, California, Jamaica, Haiti, West India and East Africa. At present, there are four churches going strong for the Lord in Jamaica.

In 1959, Bishop Joseph and Missionary Bertha took their first trip to the Republic of Haiti, West Indies where the gospel was much needed. She was moved with such great compassion to bring new light and life to a people that had been trodden down for years. Through her compassion in ministry, the results were most gratifying.

In 1976, their first trip was made into Africa with the message of Jesus Christ. In Kenya, East Africa.

Missionary Bertha Wigfall has received awards from the International Red Cross, the Evangelical Release Time Education Board, Moody Bible Institute for Child Psychology and Pedagogy, Kenya Bible Society, Graphic Unlimited for Counseling, the U.S. Navy Operational Hand Clasp, and the State of Virginia for service to Humanity.

Mother Bertha Wigfall went home to be with the Lord on December 21, 2009 but her labor of love here on earth has not been in vain.

The Harvest is Great, the Laborers Few!

The harvest is the most important time in the life of a farmer. This is the time of gathering of the fruits; and the lack of laborers or willing workers may cause great loss. "The harvest is plenteous, and the laborers are few," says Jesus. "Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, He will send forth, laborers into the harvest." (Matt. 9:37;38)

This is a plea from Christ regarding the time of the harvest. We must be ready to gather much fruits for His kingdom.

"…How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things.!" Romans 10:15
